ALCOHOLISM
Today, alcohol is used for celebrations, such as parties and family reunions. Since alcohol comes in so many forms, such as wine, beer and hard liquors mixed with sodas and juices, there are many ways for people to enjoy drinking it and enjoying it. But some young adults and teens abuse alcohol. Teens seem to be getting a hold of alcohol at a younger and younger age. Since alcohol is used to celebrate and have fun, teens that abuse alcohol most likely have no idea of the affect alcohol and its abuse can have on their bodies.
I have chosen to do this report on alcohol and its abuse for many reasons. As a
teen, I know that I will be faced with a decision to drink or not to drink. I know
that it is more and more common for teens to be drinking alcohol at a younger
age. But I do not want to be stupid and make the wrong choice, since the choice
I make may determine how I spend the rest of my life. I want to know the
affects of alcohol and its use, what happens to alcohol in the body and what
dangers drinking can cause me. With this information, I hope to feel better
prepared to answer the question, "Do you want a drink?" And I hope
that the information I can share on alcohol and its abuse will help my friends
and family answer that question the same way: "No thanks".
Alcoholic drinks come in many forms such as wine, beer and alcoholic liquors.
All alcoholic drinks are created through the process of fermenting and aging a

the drink. Wines and beer usually have a much lower percentage of alcohol such
as 4% to 6% of alcohol while hard liquors, such as vodka, rum or tequila, are
stronger and may be 40% alcohol or greater. Because the base mixture varies,
such as grape juices for wines or a barley, hops and water mixture for beer,
alcoholic drinks can be made to fit just ..
